Meeting Our Staff

 

All personnel at Little Smiling Faces Day Care, Inc. have continuous training that meets the requirements established by the State of Maryland in all areas of early childhood development.  All staff of LSF are first aid and CPR certified.  The goal for the staff at LSF is to help develop the future minds of our tomorrow—the future of our youth.

Brandi Champion
Ms. Champion has for 4 years of experience in PGCPS as a Dedicated Aide. She enjoys working with students with special needs and especially enjoys teaching students with autism. She has 3 years of experience working with students with autism. While this is a new population of students she is setting a foundation for, she is elated to embrace this new adventure.

Latoyia Jones
Ms. Jones has worked in the Early Childhood Education field for several years in another childcare facility. She has completed several courses through PG Community College in Early Childhood Education. She recently finished the 45 clock hours for Infant and Toddlers course. She is most excited to take what she has learned and share with not only the students of LSF, but her co-workers too!

Rachel Miller
Ms. Miller has been working in childcare for six years with children ranging from newborn to sixth grade.  She is currently working toward obtaining a degree in Child and Adolescent Studies.  Her philosophy about children is that they learn through experience and are a direct reflection of their exposure.  Therefore, by presenting them with lesson plans that are not only academically geared, but are dynamic enough to facilitate life lessons that help them draw connections to the world around them.  It is this challenge that has led her to choose this field of work.

Monica Simms
Ms. Simms has volunteer experience at a local church working with young children for two years. She is currently working on her associates degree in Early Childhood Education. She has a genuine passion for working with children and is excited about this new journey.

Christian Stokes
Mrs. Stokes has been working in childcare for 7 years and is credentialed by Maryland State Department of Education. She enjoys organizing child centered events, creating lesson plans and maintains a positive learning environment for all students. She is bilingual in English and Spanish with the ability to translate. Her love for children is the reason she has founded a career in the childcare field.

Denise Sweetenburg
Mrs. Sweetenburg has worked at LSF for over 10 years.  She first found her passion for working with young children during a summer program in the late 70’s.  She has taken the 90 hours course for early childhood and has many certification courses in this field.  Her mission and purpose for becoming an early childhood education is to teach children that learning can be fun.

SUBSTITUTES/SUMMER STAFF

Courtney Hutchinson
Ms. Hutchinson has worked in childcare field for almost two years.  Before becoming an employee in this field, she studied child development I, II and III throughout high school.  During that time, she served as an intern at a local Prince George’s County Public Elementary School assisting students with special needs in a kindergarten class.  She enjoys working with young children and appreciates the opportunity to assist them in growth and development.

Krystalese Robertson-Rivas
Ms. Robertson-Rivas has been working in childcare for almost two years and started as an intern at LSF.  She recently completed the Early Childhood Education program at Prince George’s Community College.  She currently aspires to work with people in general in the helping profession.
